GARRISON RESIDENTS COMMITTEE MEETING

MONDAY 8TH APRIL 2019 7.30 PM

1 Apologies - These were received from; Daniel Puddick, Pam Dewey, Phil Coombe, Cliff Marshall

2. Minutes - Minutes of the meeting of 4th March were agreed and accepted.

 

3. Cart & Wagon Shed - Following information received at the recent CCT meeting regarding

    the budget received from the council and the staging of the payments into Paul Jenkinson 's

    Budget and the apparent discrepancies, Richard is to contact Nick  Ward for clarification.

 

4.  S106 Handover - No further news.  A   discussion took place to ascertain if there are any further    

     Routes that we can take to obtain the Handover, as Avant are clearly ignoring their own rules

     about the handover. There was discussion of the possibility of writing another letter to Avant

     asking  why they can't hand over the Garrison element of the S106 as the fractious issue of

     the sea wall has no bearing on this.  Richard also agreed to ring Jo Massey to possibly arrange  

     a  meeting at their Head Office,

     Chris agreed accompany if this meeting was possible. Michael also agreed to contact MOAT,

     to get the date when the last Housing Association house was occupied.

 

5.  Spenceley and Fowler Report -The program for the  Renovation of the grassed areas

     around the Garrison has begun, having acquired the prescription for the chemicals from the

     Green Keepers at the Golf Club. The painting of the Street Furniture is now completed. Paul

     Jenkinson at Southend Borough Council has asked for the paint information for use on the

      Lamp Standards on the adopted roads.

     The redecoration of Gunners House has started, F & S to check progress.

     There is has been a report of a caravan parked behind Magazine Road, to be investigated.

 

6.   Anti Social Behaviour - There have been some reports of cars and bikers being a nuisance.

      These have been videoed and the police were called and attended. All appears to be quiet

      at the Shoeburyness Hotel following the reopening.

 

7.   The meeting with Garrison Developments, due to take place with Chris, has been postponed.

      Their intention is to come up with another plan.

       Work has commenced on the four two storey houses opposite the church.

       LIDL has distributed information regarding their proposed supermarket opposite the

       Health Centre. Planning permission has not been granted, as yet.

       There has been a planning application submitted for a house behind the church.

       There is a possibility that the church may be used as a clothing outlet.

       ZThere has been no response to the question regarding the fire risk in the Wet Suit Outlet.

 

8.    AOB - The patch of land at the end of Boundary Way which is neglected, belongs to Number 1

       Boundary Way. New owners have very recently moved in.

       Haven 's Hospice half marathon is due to take place in June. Arrangements to be monitored .

       The Eucalyptus Tree in Brigadier Way needs urgent attention. To be followed up

 

              The next meeting is to take place on Monday 13th May
